Wilson is a spoken word artist whose experience in front of an open mic gained her the experience and encouragement to put her spoken words into print form. Wilson puts her own embellishments on the English language by adding words and feelings she felt standard English simply could not convey in her verse. Filled with thoughts and feelings about rising above loss and trauma both personal and historic, To Be highlights one woman's journey, struggles, and ability to overcome.
